Oh, how blessed we are…I mean, if a post on a Packer’s thread is coming from a self-declared VIKINGS fan, well by all means, we better listen up so that we ignorant Packer fans can learn something from our superiors! After all, being omniscient as they are, they have so much to teach us about our own history if we would only listen!

For example, when our gracious Vikings fan informs us Packer fans that “…BF must be given credit for resurrecting a Packer team that had been basement dwellers for 25 years prior”….the light suddenly goes on as I realize how wrong I have been to think that GM Ron Wolf is the one to whom the credit is due for resurrecting the Packer’s team!!!! All the while it was Favre who was the messiah…. How enlightened I now am!

Oh thankyou, ye all-knowing Mr. Vikings Fan! I can’t wait for our next lesson!!! Btw, how’s that stadium issue going for ya?

He’s since said that he regrets saying that, but my point is – you give all of these players too much credit.

Out drinking with linemen, living their lives, etc. I know we find it difficult to imagine, but they have their own lives. If they have a bad history, who are you or I to say what is right or wrong?

Favre on the other hand, is mired in scandal, gave Packer opponents advise on the team, fake retired twice, connived his way to Minny, skipped training camp, puked on the Vikings chances at a Superbowl, texted and left voicemails for women, lied to Goodell, made a fool of himself this year on the field…all the while whining to anyone in the media who would listen to him. Keep trying to bring the Packers and Rodgers down….your failure and myopic opinion amuses me.

This coming from a Vikings fan……ARodg is a very good QB and has many great years ahead of him. Favre was a great QB and his stats/record bears that out. I say enough of the comparison of the two……it’s sour grapes. Everyone needs to acknowledge the facts and put their hurt emotions aside. You don’t hear 49′er fans taking sides between Montana and Young and especially how many years after the fact, or Greise/Marino, Rapersburger/Bradshaw, etc. etc. Also, keep in mind that when comparing any players, you must also take into account the era in which they played. Taking nothing away from Rodgers, he and other QB’s are playing in the era of “the passing game” where rule changes make it almost impossible to defend the pass. Also, keep in mind that the Packers are a good team even without Rodgers (as Matt Flynn showed) whereas BF must be given credit for resurrecting a Packer team that had been basement dwellers for 25 years prior. Again, not bashing Rodgers, because I think he is one of the best QB’s in the NFL today, he didn’t have to resurrect a bad franchise, he took over a team that had went 13-3 in 2007 and lost in the NFC Championship game, which makes it a much shorter road to the SB. I understand the bitterness many Packer fans still hold for BF’s joining a rival, but I also have no doubt that time will heal those wounds, as it should. BF/AR are/were both great QB’s on the field and to say otherwise is proof of ignorance. Do I condone BF’s actions off the field, hell no but there are many many players who have acted worse off the field who some rubes have already enshrined…..Ray Lewis, Michael Irvin, Lawerence Taylor, Mark Chmura to name but a few.

gregjennings85 is correct, and another tidbit that Aaron could confirm for you is that Garrett went to Chico High School (The second Chico area high school besides Aaron’s alma mater Pleasant Valley) I believe Cross may have been a year older though. I have heard so much lately about how Aaron wasn’t recruited out of high school, and let me tell you, HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN I REMEMBER FIRST HAND, I coached the Lassen Varsity team that won the Div. 1 Northern Section CIF Aaron’s senior year. We just missed out on playing against Aaron for that championship but his PV Vikings lost to the Enterprise Hornets (Redding, CA) in the semi finals of our section playoffs. We were dissapointed as it was well known by our team that he was the best QB in the section. Aaron just goes to show the level of high school talent that is IGNORED year after year in the CA area ABOVE Sacramento. Awesome job Aaron!!! You made all of your former high school opponents proud!!! Get them again next year for the 5-3-0!!!

Mike Nolan joined Jerry Glanville that day in the legendary bonehead coach department — Glanville traded Brett Favre to the Packers after Brett spent one year as 3rd string in Atlanta.

Nolan, of course, selected Smith and let Rodgers sit in that Green Room forever.

Both Glanville and Nolan deserve spots in the Packers Hall of Fame.

Favre has become a joke over the last few years and Rodgers has handled the distractions with grace and poise. He was a great QB that along with Reggie White resurrected the franchise and that will never be forgotten but, the last 5 years has damaged his legacy. He has become a self centered ahole and has pissed on the Green Bay fans.

One day, soon I hope, Aaron Rodgers will be able to enjoy his success without the constant reminders of sexting, drug abusing, little pecker former Qb that preceded him in Green Bay.

Letterman is a pinhead so we could hardly expect him to lay off the subject but the greatest thing Rodgers could do to put the whole subject behind him was to have a great playoff run (check) and top with it off with a Superbowl MVP (check, check).

The press will soon get tired of flagging this dead horse, except in Minnesota where they are presently taking donations for another billboard to go up in Mississippi this spring.

They always send them to the magic kingdom, well that place is dry. They need to send the players to Epcot & have them do the around the world / drink a beer at every city event. That staggers the best of them & is obviously more interesting than it’s a small world. That small world boat ride gets obnoxious unless hammered, then it’s almost tolerable (almost).

So you mean getting picked up half way through preseason, doesn’t equal wins and a championship, maybe the Vikings would have one if Favre showed up on time like every one else.

Rodgers did learn alot from Favre, mostly don’t turn the ball over, show up and be dedicated YEAR round, and don’t take stupid pictures of yourself.

Tight End Garrett Cross was the teammate of his at Butte Community College that Jeff Tedford was there to scout. They played together at BCC, CAL, and even in the NFL – Cross was a backup, blocking TE for the Packers a few years back.
