Reports emerged today — and we’ve separately confirmed — that the Falcons will be cutting safety Erik Coleman.
The move was expected to happen on Tuesday, but as of this posting Coleman continues to be listed on the team’s online roster.
Coleman, 28, joined the Falcons in 2008, and he started all games in 2008 and 2009 before being relegated to reserve status in 2010. He appeared in 12 games and he started one.
Under contract through 2011, Coleman is due to collect a base salary of $3 million next season.

Damn…that will make their secondary pretty bad.
Oh wait.
Well, I guess the Falcons won’t be “Rollin’ with Coleman” anymore….
He was (still is) a great guy, team player, etc., but William Moore is the future and the future is now.
Sign this guy philly and let him and mikell battle for the spot. I mean nate allen is a question mark, coleman is a backup and marlin jackson cant even get on the field
wait there will be all kinds of guys getting let go after the CBA is done! owners aren’t making $$$ so they can’t pay them! yea right
Was hoping he had played for Zimmer with the Falcons but I see that he went there in ’08. Anyway, wouldn’t mind seeing my Bengals take a shot as safety is definitely a weakness.
