New York’s gamble to go with kicker Nick Folk in 2010 didn’t totally backfire.
While Jay Feely had a Pro Bowl season in Arizona, Folk was mostly good until a November slump almost cost him his job. He missed a kick against the Patriots, but otherwise hit a few huge playoff kicks, including the game-winner against the Colts.
Folk is a free agent after the year, however, and the Jets have started to look for other options. The team signed Nick Novak to a contract Wednesday, as first reported by NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora.
Novak spent most of 2010 in the UFL, where he led the league in scoring.
