Ray Lewis confirms that he’s playing next year

The Ravens said there was no truth to the rumors they were buying out Ray Lewis’ contract.

Running back Ray Rice told Florio he expected his teammate to be back.

Now Lewis has dispelled the rumors himself.  (We’re still unclear where this “rumor” came from other than the Ravens felt the need to address it.)

“I heard that they gave me a front office job. Come on,” Lewis told Dan Patrick on his radio show Wednesday.   “I have never heard of that in my life. . . .   Listen.  We do not listen to what everyone writes.  We know this.  No way.”

With that out of the way, Lewis talked a little about what his future might include after football.   Think Ray “The Rock” Lewis.

“Yes, I’m going into [movies],” Lewis said. “I think I’m very versatile. I could definitely go into action [movies]. When you talk about action movies, that’s kind of what I do.”

As a Ravens fan once Ray retires I would definitely like to see him have a position in the ravens front office or coaching staff as he is a fantastic motivator. However he has done so many good things for this franchise and Baltimore City as a whole a lot that goes unrecognized, he is by far entitled to take whatever career path life has in store for him after football. As a Baltimore City resident I can speak for all of us that we love you Ray and we’re glad you’re coming back.

Coming back next year really? With all his educational option I was expecting him to enroll in law school at the “U”!

I’m not sure that screaming a lot and then jumping on the pile after the play is over will work quite as well in the movies.

Ray wasn’t sure if he had enough free time to give the giant black raven a ride south for the winter.

    Action movies?

If your dreadful, LSD-induced, nightmarish, pit-stink commercials are any indication, I’ll wait for the book to come out.

    So I can burn it.

    1) I told you so.
    2) Ray won’t be coaching or in the front office, unless it as part of an ownership group, after he retires.
    3) He won’t be doing movies either.
    4) The stupid comments – you know who y’all are – are just hilarious. pick me up off the floor, please…
