Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio told the Florida Times-Union on Friday evening that he found a quarterbacks coach, but he wouldn’t reveal who it was out of consideration to the coach’s currently employer.
It didn’t take long for the news to leak out. Jason La Canfora of NFL Network and Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer report that Bengals receivers coach Mike Sheppard will take over David Garrard duties in Jacksonville.
Sheppard once coached Jaguars offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter at Idaho State in the early 80′s. Sheppard told Reedy that he wanted to coach quarterbacks again after doing so with the in Seattle and New Orleans in the past.
Coaching Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco in the same season can have that effect on a man.

he’d like to deal with rational goal oriented individuals again after trying to coach two damn fool idiots. i dont blame him.

garrard is not taking them to the super bowl!
Who says it will be David Garrard duties?
Hope he does well for the Jags. He was not a good WRs coach, but I don’t really think that was his forte.
Class act. I hope things go well.
