Haynesworth accused of sexual assault

Albert Haynesworth

It never ends.

On the same weekend that Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth surrendered on allegations of assault arising from road rage, Haynesworth allegedly committed sexual assault of a waitress at the W Hotel in D.C.

NBC Washington reports that police are investigating the claim.

Said agent Chad Speck, in a statement to NBC Washington:  “There seems to be no truth to these allegations.  We are currently evaluating facts and considering our own legal action against those involved.”

Regardless of whether Haynesworth is innocent, a guy who has been such a lightning rod for controversy needs to steer clear of any situation that could result in the making of true or embellished claims.  That said, there’s a chance that the current allegations have been flat-out fabricated.

Time, as always, will tell.

Haynesworth et al. cannot and don’t “steer clear of [these] situations” because THEY CREATE THEM.

  2. ny82jy says: Feb 14, 2011 2:35 PM

I hope this is enough to finally drive this piece of crap out of the league. This guy is one of the biggest pieces of trash I have ever seen on the NFL!!

  3. h8dansnyder says: Feb 14, 2011 2:36 PM

Looks like he is priming himself for a spot on the Bengals. Adios, Fat Albert!

  4. mrplow3 says: Feb 14, 2011 2:37 PM

Can this waste of talent just disappear already.

Useless bottom feeder, if he wasn’t athletically gifted he’d be either in prison or slinging rock right now.

  5. steelers101 says: Feb 14, 2011 2:37 PM

Looks like he should be facing a 4-6 game suspension. No questions asked…

  6. thereisalwaysnextyear says: Feb 14, 2011 2:38 PM

PFT should put an “odds” meter on these type stories. Hayneworth seems so stupid and stuborn that I wouldn’t put it past him to do this sort of thing just to try and get released…..

  7. cookieson says: Feb 14, 2011 2:39 PM

Some people are just dirtbags and can’t get around that.

  8. shaggytoodle says: Feb 14, 2011 2:41 PM

He must have wanted that huge contract, so he afford the lawyers and fines, for when he goes on his little crime spree.

This signing keeps looking better and better. Well done, Dan Snyder. Well done.

  12. connorchew says: Feb 14, 2011 2:51 PM

dang, i truly believe philly would have been interested in him. but after the last two weeks, the organization and fans don’t want this guy. what a shame.

  13. dolphan343 says: Feb 14, 2011 2:55 PM

I hope they get a new cba. Maybe we can get to see Shanny making the fat slob do wind sprints again to try and embarass him. lol what a joke.

  14. scytherius says: Feb 14, 2011 3:01 PM

Boy, Snyder sure has a keen eye for talent.

  16. 7pints says: Feb 14, 2011 3:10 PM

c’mon guys… his agent said he didn’t do it!

  17. kotcha23 says: Feb 14, 2011 3:15 PM

Wow, that must be the only picture in existence of Haynesworth actually reading a playbook…

  18. joetoronto says: Feb 14, 2011 3:18 PM

I can’t see how ANYBODY will touch him now, not even the Skins.

  19. theshakeweight says: Feb 14, 2011 3:20 PM

I know this, if he where on the Steelers he would be off the team. The Rooneys do not put up with that nonsense.

  20. dsims7 says: Feb 14, 2011 3:21 PM

Why is this no surprise? Just when you think this guy can go no lower, he surprises us!

  21. dchuwo says: Feb 14, 2011 3:26 PM

I’ll withhold judgment on whether he did this until more facts come out, but I am very glad my team hasn’t had to deal with Haynesworth. Is there anyone more deserving than Dan Snyder?

  22. scoob766 says: Feb 14, 2011 3:33 PM

Snyder must have a lot of money, paying someone to claim Haynesworth got into altercations in a hotel and a car. Interesting, guess that’s what happens when you get desperate…

  23. dansnydersux says: Feb 14, 2011 3:33 PM

Dan Snyder, as always, I thank you for destroying my football team.

  24. rajbais says: Feb 14, 2011 3:36 PM

Now can the conduct policy come into play????

At least it comes into play more than Haynesworth!!!

This is the only method to keep him out of our sight and deprived of more paycheck that he never deserved.

  25. jonlynia says: Feb 14, 2011 3:36 PM

Radiers need a DT?… Can the Redskins get money back from Fat Albert due to contract violations around conduct?

  26. sterilizecromartie says: Feb 14, 2011 3:43 PM

Key words … “steer clear of these situations”

Guilty or not, it baffles me how these guys put themselves in these situations. Whether it be Burress, Vick, Big Ben, Brandon Banks, Haynesworth, etc.

Grow Up!! What kind of grown men fight dogs, hang out in college bars, or hang out in flashy clubs where trouble is bound to find them??

And before some moron screams “OH WHAT, THEY AREN’T ALLOWED TO LIVE THEIR LIVES AND HAVE FUN NOW?!?”, yes they are allowed to do that, as long as it is in a manner and at a place that won’t jeopardize their entire career/life. Common sense.

  27. iwishiwasindc says: Feb 14, 2011 4:00 PM

How about putting US out of OUR freakin’ misery? I for one hope he hits the trifecta of horrible conduct…makes it easier to grease the skids outta town. I hope he doesn’t “contribute” to some other team…not even the Cowboys deserve this guy!

  28. dsims7 says: Feb 14, 2011 4:01 PM

@rajbais, it all depends on which one! If the team does it, they will not have to pay him, but the NFLPA will come into play. If they League does it, the Redskins pick up the bill to them?

  29. dsims7 says: Feb 14, 2011 4:05 PM

Or, if there is a Judge in this country that will sent him to Rikers, Sing Sing, Lewisburg PA, Levingworth, KS., or The Rock, where he seems to love vacationing at anyway, we all win!

  30. sean6886 says: Feb 14, 2011 4:07 PM

Said agent Chad Speck, in a statement to NBC Washington: “There seems to be no truth to these allegations. We are currently evaluating facts and considering our own legal action against those involved.”

How does his agent know. Is his agent also an investagator with the local police?
I don’t know if it’s true or not and I realize agents are supposed to say these things, but it’s a little premature, don’tcha think? The investagation has only just begun.

–really? You ever heard of Ben Roethlisberger? Seems to me that they put up with A LOT of that nonsense…

  32. beastofeden says: Feb 14, 2011 4:12 PM

    @sterilizecromartie :

One must assume you are the chief of the morality police. And with a moniker such as yours it’s no wonder you feel that you are the be-all end-all judge. Your name screams to steralize a grown man, yet you are beside yourself with grown men that:
“…fight dogs, hang out in college bars, or hang out in flashy clubs ”

Your arguement ended once you admitted that :

“yes they are allowed to do that,”

So what are you so haughty about? All of the grown men that you have mentioned are multi millionaires. Are they hurting you?

  33. stairwayto7 says: Feb 14, 2011 4:12 PM

If there is not a 6-10 game suspension something is wrong! Kicked a Cowboy player in the head, road rage and now sexual assualt?

  34. stachman83 says: Feb 14, 2011 4:35 PM

In related news, upon hearing about the formal charges, The Steelers offer Haynesworth a long term contract, and a Captains patch.

More good press for the ‘Skins!

  37. rooster1975 says: Feb 14, 2011 4:46 PM

Fat Albert refused to play this past season not because he didn’t like the 3-4 defense, but rather because he had to save his energy to assault motorists and waitresses in the offseason. Back-to-back 300-yard shuttle runs take a lot out of a feller. He also refused to return any of the $41 million he pocketed, so that he could fully fund his war chest to settle the attendant civil lawsuits.

Bring on the scabs. I would rather watch a beer truck driver who played D-III ball live the dream of playing in an NFL uniform than watch this fat tub of blubber suck on an oxygen mask on an NFL sideline.

  38. kosarsmyidol says: Feb 14, 2011 4:46 PM

He should’ve been out of the league when he stomped on Andre Gurode’s head. Haynesworth has no class and no respect for the league or himself. What a waste of good carbon.

  39. rajbais says: Feb 14, 2011 4:47 PM

Roger Goodell is our only potential savior.

He and the conduct policy are the only ways for Haynesworth to go away and earn fewer paychecks that he never deserved!!!

  40. newagerocker says: Feb 14, 2011 4:59 PM

I wonder what it will take to make him more hated than Michael Vick?

  42. tfbuckfutter says: Feb 14, 2011 5:17 PM

If his agent is saying there SEEMS to be no truth to the accusations as opposed to there is ABSOLUTELY no truth…..there almost definitely is truth.

  43. tonyalexander says: Feb 14, 2011 5:18 PM

@kotcha23 don’t be fooled. What appears to be a playbook is actually the menu from Waffle House.

  45. saberstud75 says: Feb 14, 2011 10:40 PM

Haynesworth = Garbage Juice, the disgusting, smelly liquid in the bottom of the dumpster that you can never get rid of.

  46. Canyonero says: Feb 14, 2011 10:55 PM

I look forward to seeing if Roger Goodell will suspend him for even 1 game, since he’s not a Steeler.

  47. sterilizecromartie says: Feb 15, 2011 10:48 AM

    @beastofeden

Nice job manipulating my words. I said they are allowed to have fun in a safe and sound manner that won’t jeopardize their lives and/or career. And you are really arguing with me about that? Wow.

“So what are you so haughty about? All of the grown men that you have mentioned are multi millionaires. Are they hurting you?”

Really? This is a blog!! The whole point of this place is to voice your pleasure or disgust about athletes, teams, coaches, etc.! Are we not allowed to say someone is an idiot or a jerk because they are millionaires or because they are “not hurting us”??

    P.S. – It’s just a sign in name. Jeesh.
