Grand jury will assess sexual assault claim against Haynesworth

Albert Haynesworth AP

Over the weekend, a waitress at the W Hotel in Washington claimed that she had been touched inappropriately by Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.

Soon, a grand jury will decide whether the accusation has sufficient merit to result in Haynesworth being formally charged.

NBC Washington reports that the process will begin later this week.  If the grand jury indicts Haynesworth, the process will continue, possibly culminating in a trial.

Haynesworth’s agent, Chad Speck, previously has denied any wrongdoing.  Haynesworth reportedly fondled a breast of the waitress after tucking his credit card into the pocket of her blouse.

I can’t help but think Mike Shanahan is somewhere poppin’ bottles and celebrating after finally getting the reason he needed to get rid of Haynesworth. Congrats Mike!!!

He just can’t stay out of trouble. Regardless of whether he did it its always something. Dan has to learn you can’t build teams based on this video game strategy of getting so called big name players all on your team every year and showering them with money like that’s going to somehow magically win it all. Maybe its time to start building your team through the draft Dan. Im pretty sure you could have found a decent DT in the draft, he couldn’t’ve have been any worse than Albert.

I’m not saying he did or didn’t do this, but her blouse must have had a REALLY big pocket for a 300+ LB man’s hand to fit in it

    Innocent until proven guilty.

I also think maybe Redskin fans should stop blaming Dan Snyder so much for the Redskins lack of success. I think he’s been a fairly “hands off” owner for a couple/few years now.

I hate to think what Cowboy fans would be saying about Jerry Jones right now had Dallas not had the success they did in the early/mid 90’s. Jones is the guy who can’t keep from fiddling with the team.

So….he DIDN’T hire the decision makers who keep making bad decisions?

    Who did?

It WAS his choice to give Albert the ridiculous contract wasnt it? Yes! And I’m not a Redskins but anyone can see his (Dan) decisions have been horrible throughout his regime.

Danny Boy $nyder knew all about what a turd Haynesworth was…or at least he SHOULD have, if he bothered to do even the slightest bit of research.

As usual, $nyder was blinded by the number of Fat Albert jerseys he would sell, which is all he cares about.

HaynesGirth’s agent should start asking Al to pay him attorney’s fees. He spends quite a bit of time lately trying to debunk criminal accusations against his client.
