Ryan Clark can’t get over Super Bowl loss, rips NFL’s “greed”

Steelers safety Ryan Clark is in a lousy mood.

In an interview with 93.7 the Fan in Pittsburgh, Clark said he can’t get over the Super Bowl XLV loss to the Packers. And then he proceeded to rip the NFL for “greed,” citing both the Super Bowl ticket fiasco at Cowboys Stadium, and the lack of progress between the owners and the players’ union on a new deal.

Asked if he’s over the Super Bowl, Clark said, “Not at all. It’s something that you think about every day because it’s not a situation you’re going to be in every year. You know, we’re not promised to be there ever again. So to be there, to lose, and to feel like you could have done things differently — a play here, a play there to help your team win the game — it’s tough. Had we won I probably would have started working out some time in March. I started yesterday. Because losing wants to make you get back to that podium. So it’s a tough, tough situation.”

Clark also said he had family members who lost their seats at Cowboys Stadium on Super Bowl Sunday, thanks to the NFL’s decision to sell tickets to temporary seats that ended up not getting finished on time, and he’s not happy about the way they were treated.

“I think it was part greed that ruined the week, you know what I mean? When you don’t do things the correct way, you don’t treat people right all the time and you don’t treat people correct and are kind of all about self, sometimes it’s not going to work out for you,” Clark said.

Clark, who serves as a union representative, added that the NFL’s greed will be on display during a lengthy lockout.
