Agent Paul Lawrence dies

Paul Lawrence, the agent for several NFL players, died suddenly near his home on Wednesday. He was 45.

According to NFLPA records, he was listed as the agent for Adrian Wilson of the Cardinals, Ricky Sapp of the Eagles, Tim Hightower of the Cardinals and Dorell Scott of the Rams.

We are devastated by today’s news, and our hearts go out to Paul’s family,” Eugene Parker of Maximum Sports Management, Lawrence’s firm, said in a statement. “Paul was an important part of the Maximum family, and all of us will miss him dearly. His ability to work with our athletes and the relationships he built over the past decade has had a direct result in the success of our company. We will miss Paul’s vision and his daily enthusiastic approach in an industry where he has had such a positive effect.”

Lawrence had been with Maximum Sports Management since 2001. He was a college basketball player who graduated from Seattle University in 1989.
