The Dolphins are considering adding a familiar name to their coaching staff: Bryan Cox.
As a linebacker for the Dolphins in the 1990s, Cox was both a three-time Pro Bowler and a hothead who frequently let his temper get the better of him. Now Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald reports that Cox interviewed this week to join Tony Sparano’s staff.
It’s not clear what Cox’s title would be in Miami. He was defensive line coach in Cleveland in 2009 and 2010 but was fired last month along with head coach Eric Mangini. Cox had also worked for Mangini with the Jets.
In addition to playing for the Dolphins, Cox spent time with the Bears, Jets, Patriots and Saints.
