Falcons re-sign two players

R. Agnone

Business is slow on the NFL transaction wire, but it’s not closed.

The Falcons got two deals done on Thursday, re-signing tight end Robbie Agnone and defensive tackle Trey Lewis to undisclosed deals. Agnone was an undrafted player in 2009, so he wouldn’t have been free to leave anyhow.

Lewis was a sixth-round pick in 2007, and was possibly headed for unrestricted free agency.

He’s had very limited playing time as a pro, however, and decided to re-sign rather than find out what was behind door number two in free agency.

Perhaps this is a sign the Falcons will also try to re-sign some of their priority free agents before March 4 strikes.
