You people do realize not every player is a millionaire, right? In case you forgot, most football players need regular medical treatment and if the teams lock players out, they aren’t getting access to team doctors. A couple trips to the hospital without insurance and suddenly you’re talking about real money.

That, right there, is a major indication of the disconnect between the fan base and the players, let alone billionaire owners.

The average Joe, when he loses his job, is often faced with a choice between paying COBRA to maintain health insurance for their families, and paying a monthly mortgage. For those who have never HAD to pay for COBRA, it can easily run $800 – 1200 PER MONTH.

NFL hacks can write that check like they’re wiping their butts, but the average fan has to make a choice bewteen one or the other.
