We’ve gotten plenty of questions about the mediation process to which the league and the NFLPA have agreed to submit.

George H. Cohen, director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, will preside over up to seven straight days of talks. (Obviously, there will be fewer than seven days of talks, if the talks break down or if a deal is struck. The former is far more likely)

So what does it all mean? Well, I could write about it or I could talk about it. And since we’ve got a 30-to-45-minute window to fill each day on ProFootballTalk Live each weekday, I’ll explain the process in the opening segment of today’s show. Then, after talking with Redskins receiver Santana Moss (whose shot at free agency would be delayed by a lockout), we’ll visit with Liz Mullen of SportsBusiness Journal, who first raised the possibility of federal mediation for the NFL’s labor dispute nearly one year ago.

Join us at 12:00 p.m. ET. (It’s an invitation, not a plea. That said, we’d really, really, really, really like you to show up.)
