Are you serious? That was a year and a half ago. That is a lifetime in the NFL. And btw, that interview was after Bob Sanders had been placed on IR in the middle of the 2009 season. And it was regarding whether or not he would be back with the team in 2010, which of course he was!

What a stupid article.

First of all, owners exaggerate their love of players all the time. Second, Sanders has played in 9 of the last 48 games. He is incapable of playing a whole season, which is what teams pay players for. Bill Polian did the right thing. Save that money for someone that might be capable of playing more than three games.
