i’m not a steelers fan, and while i do like the job goodell’s doing overall, i hope the doctors were succesful in removing the nfl from harrison’s back

Nuts, Mike. The Steelers have never gotten favorable or unfavorable treatment. If it’s in Goodell’s interest to suspend Roethlisberger but to ignore Vince Young and Brandon Underwood, that’s what he does. If it’s in his interest to make an example of Harrison, that’s what he does. Stop acting as though all Steelers fans think everything revolves around us. Some of us see Goodell exactly for what he is: an expedient man with a plan.

Be happy for the monotony of successful surgical reports. I’ve had surgeries that went wrong. Would never wish that on anyone–especially not an elite athlete.

Am i missing something? Why does the fact that he went to college 30 miles from Pittsburgh mean he can’t have anything against the city?

I mean, I don’t know if he does or doesn’t, but I’m originally from Philly and I have plenty of friends that went to Pitt, yet hate the Steelers and Penguins.

On the flip side, i’m sure there are plenty of students at Temple and Penn and Villanova that hate the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers.

If an injury doesnt make the player miss any time from games or practice it doesnt need to be reported . Its plain and simple and truly a non story, story .

Will an NFL related surgery EVER b anything else…like it was a total failure and the guy will be paralyzed for life.

The only exception is when a Brown’s player has surgery in Clevelan…FREE staph infection at no extra charge.

Arguably favorable treatment? Just watch 2008 game tape, Mike. The Steelers went 13 straight games without a holding penalty being called on the opposing team.

Harrison and Woodley combined for 27.5 sacks; they were easily the most dynamic pass rushing duo in the league; the defense was one of the best to play in the last decade–they went 14 games without giving up 300 yards of offense; and one holding penalty was called on the opposing offense for the entire season. Just one.

That’s statistically anomalous; even if they were BAD pass rushers playing on a BAD defense, they would incur more than one holding penalty.

Favorable treatment? They can’t even get the holding penalties to get properly called.

Plus this article seems to suggest that the absence of a league inquiry justifies that notion that the Steelers receive favorable treatment. If that’s the case, then the Pats, who admittedly screw with the injury report, would also be getting favorable treatment, seeing as how there has not been a major inquiry into their questionable tactics.

The doctor not only successfully completed the surgery, he was able to also scalpel Roger Goodell off Harrison’s back.

The tiny object removed from the top of Jamse’ spinal column turned out to be his brain. There should be no discernible effect on his future performance.
