So let me see if I get this straight, this Peter King guy has a phone interview with Cam. Then posted on his tweet of what the kid said in what appears to be an attempt to set him up then Mr. Smith picks it up and repost the Peters tweet and tries to use to to sabotage this kid.

Cecil Newton’s asking price from Miss. State was $200,000 but he said he would knock off $20,000 because of his relationship with Dan Mullen. Then the Newtons paid a single visit to Auburn–a school not even on their radar–and Cam signed within two weeks.

So their asking price was six figures. They were willing to give Mullen a $20,000 discount for old time’s sake. But Cam inexplicably switched to Auburn after one meeting … for nothing? Right.

Emmert has said the investigation is ongoing and more people were questioned this week. In June, 10 defendants including two major Auburn boosters, begin trial on federal conspiracy, bribery, and fraud. If convicted, they face millions in fines and nearly 300 years in prison. A third booster took a plea deal and will testify against the others. Evidence includes 50 hours of 2,700 wiretapped phone calls. The FBI’s probe is also ongoing, and the feds have indicated there’s a link between their probe and Auburn recruiting practices.

Perhaps nothing will come of it. Or as with USC, it may be years before all the info is released. Say what you want publicly, but at least prepare yourself.

The only people who are saying this is about race is the obvious people that are black. I specifically referred to Tim Tebow and Jimmy Clausen to make a point. I could also referr to Tim Couch, Ryan Leaf, Kevin Kolb, David Carr, Alex Smith etc etc. in terms of QB busts.

While I cannot speak for everyone I ASSUME he will be a bust because of his off field issues. People throw around racism too much in todays world. As a result it casts a shadow over real racist acts that still occur and deserve real attention.

What???? Where did the race card come from?? My only judgment has to do with who he, and his family, are already proving themselves to be. Black QB, White QB, Orange QB – this guy’s an egotistical douche and a media hound. It’s THAT reason people rally behind wanting him to fail. We’re all sick of these guys who get this incredible opportunity to PLAY A GAME for a living at MILLIONS of dollars and show a lack of respect and gratitude for the opportunity at every turn or with every comment. It’s the fact he’s entitled – not that he’s a black QB.

Wait a minute. Bad behavior is bad behavior, and that has nothing to do with race. And you can disapprove of bad behavior without wanting people to fail.

I think Newton is a shrewd, savvy, egotistical guy who’s first priority is Cam Newton. That’s not unique in professional sports. I’m certain Auburn paid for his services and that he was in on the deal but will never face punishment. As always, those who’ll suffer most will be future Auburn students who had nothing to do with it but will live under the sanctions.

But despite all the double-dealing, Cam’s talent is real, and I’m anxious to see how it translates to the NFL. I have a skepticism about spread QBs, but that has nothing to do with race. I’ve never been more skeptical about anyone than Tebow. But Newton has the arm if he can learn to hang in the pocket. I hope he doesn’t go to Buffalo because I’d like to see him on a more visible team. I don’t particularly care for him personally, but I can’t stand Brady and there are few QBs I’d rather watch than Captain America. Newton is an amazing talent. If you love the game, you have to be excited about watching that kind of talent progress.

He’ll fall to the 32nd pick and the Packers will…… trade the pick to the Vikings so they can draft him.
