The Eagles announced Tuesday that tackle Winston Justice had a successful debridement (clean out) of his knee on Tuesday.

The team was careful to point out that Justice’s procedure was relatively minor one day after a report came out Justice could have required microfracture surgery.

It’s worth noting that teams routinely obscure the severity of offseason surgeries every year. Almost every offseason procedure is called arthroscopic.

In this case, it appears the Eagles are being up front. Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com reported the Eagles had no reason to believe Justice’s surgery would be overly serious, and Tuesday apparently didn’t provide any surprises.
