Report: Pat Dye, Jr. is one of the agents who was cuffed, detained at Scouting Combine

trv_g_lucasoil_576

On Saturday, rumors were rampant that two agents were cuffed and detained the day before in a restricted area at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

We didn’t name names, and for good reason. One of the agents vehemently denied involvement during multiple phone conversations. The other agent could not be reached for comment. After specifically denying any incident involving the unnamed agent who denied involvement, the league eventually clammed up completely, refusing to respond to any further inquiries.

Our buddy Brooks of SportsByBrooks.com reports that Pat Dye, Jr. and Jimmy Section “broke NFL rules by attending NFL combine activities in person on Friday at Lucas Oil Stadium thanks to passes obtained from event sponsor Under Armour.”

Brooks said that Dye was cuffed, detained, and removed. Per Brooks, Sexton left before Dye was apprehended.

We continue to hear that a second agent was cuffed and detained. We’ll continue to not name his name until we can obtain corroboration, or until someone else reports it.

UPDATE: Pat Dye, Jr. contacted PFT to tell us the whole story, which we have posted in a separate item.
