With the owners having planned for a lockout from the getgo and obviously not negotiating in good faith, and their about-face on the importance of games in those billion dollar stadiums, I’m on the side of the players!

In my judgment, the NFL owners should declare a labor impasse, and not a lockout, as the latter would, among other things, cede the public relations high ground to the players union. Regrettably, a player lockout is the most likely result here. Hopefully, we can count on a new CBA being signed before any antitrust litigation is adjudicated—i.e., within the next five years or so.

It really doesn’t solve anything and it would basically just nullify the owners plan to back out of a bad deal they signed a long time ago and have been dying to get out from under.

They need to keep bargaining almost non-stop until this thing is resolved, and all parties can have peace for the next 7 years or so.
