To me it is ironic that a Vikings fan talks to anyone about “bad decisions.” Their history is littered with bad decisions…hence the continuous epic failures and playoff meltdowns. Last year Paul Allen said…”This is not Detroit man, this is the Superbowl!” after Favre threw another season ending playoff INT. Well, the Vikings will never get to the Superbowl, and he was right, the Vikings are not Detroit, they are worse…..

badcallsfootball: How is this a bad decision? It is no secret that the Packers defense played better in the middle when Barentt went down and Hawk was moved in the middle with Bishop. That “bad decision” put another trophy in the Packers case….how many do the Vikings have? I know it is hard rooting for the laughing stock of the NFL…a team that consistantly shows the rest of the NFL how NOT to do things…but please show a little respect. Why didn’t they slap the franchise tag on Favre…I mean, they were already paying him $20 million for a 6-10 record, 25 turnovers and 3 missed games….whats another $3-$4 million.

BTW, how is your squashed marshmallow of a stadium doing….did they have to shovel the 50 yard line after the latest snowstorm? Just curious as I am truly concerned.

Do you mean to say that you don’t see any similarities? Both teams had LB’s that are at the end of their contracts. One team paid $10 mil, the other team did not. One team just won the Superbowl, the other team never won it. One team ran the table at the end of the year, the other team finished in last place. Even you can’t deny that the spending decisions have an impact on a team and paying BrINT $17 mil, Jar Head, $70 mil, Berrian, $44 mil helped the Vikings how? Finish in last place?

You mean like a team coming off a last-place, 4-12 season signing a 30-year-old CB with an injury history to a 7-year deal paying 10.5 mil in the first year? But you knew that was a smart decision right away, didn’t you…..

BTW, has it occurred to you that, being a figure set by the rules of the franchise tag, the Vikings can’t possibly be the only team that values a LB at 10 mil? No, that would require a little more thought than you typically give to any particular topic.
