Honestly, how in the hell would you know that? For all you know this puppy is about to be signed sealed and delivered……..if vonnie holidays leak is correct….they havent agreed upon any of the main issues as of yet….that is a long way from a deal !
They have a deal just as soon as they announce one & not before…why get caught up in an emotioal roller coster ride ?

My first thought was ‘window dressing’. That a 24 hour extension is still an extension and therefore “all avenues were explored”.

I do like the version that they are negotiating the extension – that makes more sense since they have to decide about free agent signings and drug testing etc.

They are grossly mistaken if they think a Friday midnight lockout will keep the fans won’t be paying attention. Not in today’s age with today’s technology on people’s hip.

The fans should organize and boycott the NFL. This is ridiculous. There is no NFL or NFLPA w/o fans willing to pay a lot of money to attend games in person or watch games on DirecTV or at the local watering hole. The fans are taken for granted by both sides, but especially the owners. There’s no TV revenue, apparel revenue, etc. with fans willing to pay their hard earned cash on a great sport.

On another note, I’m a mediator and often tell mediation participants that we, as Americans, do not know how to negotiate. We believe that if we give an inch, we are weak. Can’t negotiate from entrenched positions. But, alas, as you’ve so eloquently pointed out, real negotiation typically don’t begin until just before the stroke of midnight. Which screws the fans and the game.
