Using Manning, Brady, and Brees, you have 3 big name QB’s that, if their team SHOULD cut them because of their involvement they would have 25 teams at their door with $20+ million contracts. Having them as your spokesmen makes sense for both the union and the players serving as spokesmen.

Now as fans, support the players, they did not ask for this, they are not striking. They were just fine with the CBA as it was.
Don’t go out and buy season tickets until this is over, don’t order any NFL merchandise until this is over (Green Bay you guys get a pass on your SB DVD).

You want football back, make the $$ dry up while this goes on.

The players are smart enough to realize that when it comes to getting paid showing the owners, and the public, that 3 of their best players are willing to stand up for the rank and file is more important than the color of those players’ skin. This is exactly what a non-racist organization would do; consider everything except skin color. The ones (black and white alike) that make comments like kujonicus’ are the racists.

To be blunt, when it comes to the ultimate prize-getting paid-there is no Rooney Rule. Good for the players association, and good for Brady, Brees, and Manning.

16 weeks per year! But I agree with your point. I can see these three guys showing up in DC for some of that blowhard Rockefeller’s hearings. All that has to happen to send the whole union position right down the toilet would be for one senator to ask what the combined annual salaries of these three guys are. Last I heard, Manning wants more than 23 million per year.

This ought to be priceless. Three super rich guys, dressed to the nines, one with fake goldie locks hair, complaining to the world that they are oppressed. Perfect!

All the union needs now is for fat Albert Haynesworth to tell the world how it is that after signing a 100 million dollar contract, he’s a slave.

He’s gone toe to toe with Kraft before. He’ll bring his 3 superbowls, 2 Superbowl MVPS, 2 regular season MVPS, 2 OPOY’s, 6 or 7 probowls, 1 Comeback Player of the Year, and 14-6 playoff record with him to court.

People like Brees and Manning, but I think Brady has a couple of character flaws. The patriots have been so dominant in the past 10 years that most fans hate him because he doesn’t play on their team…..I’m one of these fans (Bills fan).

I think it’s smart to have these guys represent the players, but they should have had somebody more likable than Brady to fill the third spot. I think Tomlinson is very highly respected throughout the league and fanbase. Carson Palmer might not have had a great year, but he’s well respected. I’d even be happy with McNabb over Brady.
