Mediator George Cohen has issued a nine-word statement regarding the outcome of Thursday’s mediation session between the NFL and the NFLPA.
“The parties have agreed to a one-day extension.”
Thank you, Captain Obvious.
And so we wait for Friday.

I’ll drink to that.
This guy is hilarious! Winning!
Yeah I can’t wait to get back on the field so I can redeem myself bc I wuss out last year.
Maybe I’m reading into this to much, but it must mean a deal is right around the corner.
I have been drinking to that!
Thanks for your most succinct blog yet Mike. Thank God.
And to think I get paid by the taxpayers-9 words
‘Lets Party till dawn. Get Your Drinks Goin On’
4 years since the last CBA, all that both sides could agree on during that time is that they need a one-day extension? Really? Out of 4 years?
These jokers are worse than BOTH Republicans and Democrats of the U.S. Congress!
Just shut the NFL down. If the players and owners are to greedy to come to an agreement we can live without them the entire year instead of half a year.
FMCS is a four letter word.
The worst part of it all, some dope even had to transcribe the mediator’s official response AND make an actual press release! I wonder what THAT guy’s job pays. Being paid to type up and send out a 9-word statement…ONLY!

How about: Work through the night and get this deal done
Good point – can’t we get Sheen to settle this?
I think it should be interpreted as him saying…
“They finally agreed on something”
priceless!
Bill Belichick, is that you?!
The parties have agreed that they still disagree
….good to know
Party is over. Smith is expecting a lockout to come by Saturday. So says the email for HQ.
And the owners declare an IMPASS and implement the owners’ last offer on the table.
That’s what the game was all along.
No problem. Stick that up your arse Doofus Doty.
Haha…The media is upset they have to deal with the real world rather than some guy that has to sit in the locker room, for said amount of time, and field your probing.
“Can’t is the cancer of happen”
looks like Captain Obvious could use a Reuben sandwich, extra-thin and piled high, followed by a game of canasta and a nap.
This guy is definitely not a press whore with a big ego. He seems to do everything he can to be as unobtrusive as possible.
He’d never make it in politics.
I would like to issue a 9 word statement as well:
“Figure it out or the fans will quit watching!!”
DB! Winning….
let’s get this lockout started so we can all relax.
Actually, “one-day” is technically one word instead of two, thereby making his statement eight words, not nine.
both sides are still posturing….this does not mean either or both sides are going to cave in or even compromise…we dont have a deal until one is announced ,so now is not the time for garnering false hope…the glass is still half empty !
