Amazingly stupid NFL fans on this post if you think that the Redskins should not participate in free agency. Shanahan and Allen cannot avoid free agency just because Cerratto did not use it effectively. All teams use free agency...not just the Skins idiots. It can be done judiciously, and this is one of those times. People need to get over the days of drafting players and having them stay with a team for 10 years. Teams have to manage their rosters more like colleges. Locking up players for 4 or years is reasonable nowadays. Skins will have Atogwe for at least 3 seasons. That is pretty good.

Truthfully, If anyone, and I mean ANY OTHER TEAM ACTUALLY offered this guy the same amount of $ as the fail skins, which team do you think he would go to??? Well, since this team only knows Charlie Sheen WINNING!!! I guess that answers the question.

I hope the Rams are happy with themselves for this. They could have taken a lesson from the Packers on how they handled A.J Hawk

------------------------------------------------

I imagine they are. They know what Atogwe's value really is.. he's incredibbly over hyped and is much better in madden then he is in real life.

I think its hilarious he's following Jim Haslett. Only Haslett can take what was once a good defense and make it terrible. Atogwe does not fix your issue...

get used to watching Atogwe get beat deep being over agressive and get carried down the field while trying to strip the ball.... seen it all too many times over the years, and his play last season is not worth what he wanted.

Good Move Devaney - I'd rather see Bartell or our younger up and coming corners move to safety..especially johnson, man can lay the wood.

For those who don’t follow Redskin football, Laron Landry is more bust then beast. Atogwe should be a nice improvement from Reed Doughty and Kareem Moore. I’m excited.

I'm assuming your one that doesn't follow the skins. Before LL got hurt he was leading in everything. I'm assuming b/c youd didn't see him on espn after week 5 you think he's a bust.

For the rest of the people who only leave comments about "skins and FA here we go again blah blah blah...."

Have you seen a big FA since Shanny and co came in town?

That's about as tired as Obama blaming Bush for the bad weather this week.

For what he skins paid with one of the worst d's last year it was a good move. It was not even a huge contract. All the fist day numbers are always blown up. Even if there close its a good deal for a great player.

Hey racist skins, charlie sheen thinks you guys are WINNING!!! while the rest of the actual winning franchises of the nfc east are laughing because you just signed a guy to a long term deal that will support his great grand kids, while he will underpreform for 2 straight years and then get released and retire at 29. The funny part is all the clueless fans that think this is exactly what they need to start the ball rolling. Then those nitwits wonder why they are not WINNING when they overpay these FA. BWAAAAA. High five Charlie Sheen!!! WINNING!!!

How poignant. No way to argue with this rock-solid logic. Congratulations on adding to intelligent discourse.

Most all of you guys are ignorant rednecks, college bros or yuppies trying to feel good about themselves because you know the same three obvious things about football that everybody else in the world knows. i;m sure most of you don't even cheer for your team until december when they are winning anyway. We all know the skins have made terribble signings in the past, but honestly why don't you guys analyze a situation yourself or just be like every other idiot and only repeat what you heard on espn or read in the paper. The Redskins signed a great player at a fair deal, i would love somebody to explain to me how or why this is a bad signing. HTTR!

I can't decide who deserves the 10 year SB trophy for winning in free agency. The Foreskins or the Clowns. Every time a player is picked up by these teams their fans start frothing at the mouth about how this is the season or this is the player that is really going to help turn the ship around.

The problem with the ship is that the Captain is a FREAKING MORON. For the foreskins it is the Danny, who on a daily basis makes himself an even bigger freak show than the day before. For the Clowns it is Randy Lerner, who cares much more about soccer than football.

I understand that the passion of the Cleveland and Washington fans is better than the majority of the NFL. But I just don't see either team having long term success until their respective owners die or sell the team.

At least the Clowns look like they have a plan with Holmgren, but his track record at running a team is not so good. The Foreskins have Shanahan who is becoming more like Al Davis (freaking crazy) as time goes on. But the piece de resistance is the Danny, who might be the biggest a$$hole in the NFL. Which is a hell of a distinction considering Jerrah Jonz is an NFL owner as well.

WINNING!!!

Again, as I've said before, there is nothing fresh with the "off-season champs" rhetoric. It's all there, we all know about it. But how about waiting to see how the move pans out rather than assuming it's another Adam Archuleta. Isn't there a statute of limitations on lines like that?

How about we hammer the Bills for drafting the ghost of Aaron Maybin? Or the Chargers for self-destructing and not having the good sense to fire Norville? Or any of the literally hundreds of bad personnel moves in the las handful of seasons?

Or we could just make another Bruce Smith joke. It's all the same.

Another f/a signing... same-o, same-o. At least we did not overpay or pay in draft choices. However, yet again, Redskins are trying to build by taking other teams older players rather than building from within.

I just don't get the Redskins Organization at all. They give $100M to a player who, for all intents and purposes, should have been banned-for-life from the league; and now they give all this money to a player who is all-but-insignificant when, regardless of an up-and-down season, the "face" of the Redskins, Mike Shanahan-igan, has repeated shown no respect for a player who too his former team to FIVE NFC Conference Finals and a Super Bowl appearance.
