I live in a county on the outskirts of L.A. and can tell you now, putting a stadium in Downtown is a bad idea. The traffic is horrible anyday of the week I cant even get to a Clipper game on time!

Throw in a Laker game or a convention and a football game! Its just not going to work, I was happy they were going to build it in the City of Industry area and I would happily be a season ticket holder, but now if the team goes to DTLA, I dont know if I will ever go to games, or even support them as Im a die hard Vikings fan. Depends on the team. Just dissapointed they want it in downtown.

No, but NBA fans know where the Staples Center is, how it looks and who plays there. Staples paid to have their name associated with the arena and it looks like it paid off. So the image associated with the name is the arena and of course the name of the company Staples.

It sure does. As any baseball fan can tell you, Petco Park is a stadium in San Diego. So the image is of the stadium itself. Petco is associated with that image. Marketing mission accomplished.

If built, Farmers Field will be the NFL stadium in downtown and Angelenos (10 million at last count, 17 million if you go CSA wide) will associate the name Farmers Field with the NFL and Farmers Insurance.

The mental image of the name Farmers Field will be the stadium, which of course will be a different image from that of the denizens of the marshes and alligator farms of Backwater, FL but just as valid.

There’s not enough parking for Staples Center, a 20,000 person capacity stadium. Is Roskie’s site in Industry available for a parking structure?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha Talk about a misnomer!! The last time the land of silicone and botox acknowledged a farmer was in 1940 when Henry Fonda received an Oscar nomination for The Grapes of Wrath!

The name choice is so hilarious I can almost forget how Dirty Dog Goodell is doing everything but mixing concrete in L.A. while doing nothing to support efforts to get a stadium for fans who’ve loyalty supported the Vikes for half a century.

The Dallas playoff game last year brought 6 mil. into Minneapolis that weekend.

Obviously the threat of L.A. has always been there, but now Arden Hills has become a real threat to Minneapolis as it has what the Vikings need the most: a public partner. If the stadium ever were resolved Minneapolis has been the assumed site, but not anymore.

Funny, how last week a story ran in the star tribune and pioneer press on the Arden Hills city council voting in agreement begin to working with Ramsey County officials on assesing the Ammunition Plant land and to begin making estimates on costs of the project of not only the land but the infrastructure and the stadium itself in conjuncture with the Minnesota Vikings and other state leaders to form a bill.
