Brett Favre gets his very own Mardi Gras float

B. Favremardi

One year after Brett Favre threw one of his most memorable interceptions in New Orleans, No. 4 was back in the city over the weekend for Mardi Gras.

Or at least a gigantic parade float in his image was on the streets there.

We present, courtesy of the folks at Deadspin, the Brett Favre float from this year’s Krewe D’Etat parade.   The float was entitled Pocket Pool, and it gave Favre a new nickname:  Minnesota Chubby.  Well done.  (Video of the float at 2:45 left here.)

For all you college football fans out there, the Les Miles Clock Management float looked pretty sweet too.

He has a bigger head in real life than he does on the float.

Some ideas for next years floats:

-Marshawn Lynch Running over Tracy Porterpotty enroute to 6.

-Jerry Richardson patting Drew Brees on the head while Drew is attempting to read an upside down ‘Cat in The Hat’

    -Gregg Williams B-cup

-Sean Payton flying to and fro Dallas

Can we seriously stop talking about the old man already, my gosh!!! Thought this would be over with by now

Funny how people keep making cracks about Brett not knowing when to get off the stage … but they’re the ones who keep obsessing over the guy and his “big head.”

At least the Les Miles float was funny and applicable to Louisiana.

I think its well deserved that they poke fun of BrINT junk, he’s the one that send the unwanted photos to start the scandal. Most guys with tiny peckers would try to hide that fact, not BrINT.

The only thing they could do to improve the float is to hire Childress to polish it as it rolls down the street. He spent the last two years of his “coaching” career in knee pads in front of BrINT, the least he could do is show up at the parade to show his considerable “coaching” skills.

Maybe they could have a second float for the Vikings depicting them sending the 12th man into the huddle. The Saints fans should bow down to that because without it, the Vikings had a real chance to kick the game winning FG. boy, this never gets old, does it?

Brett Favre is a living legend. Many athletes are great but very few make the needle move. Very few make you sit in front of the TV for hours, just because you don’t want to miss what they do, or how they do it. NOBODY, not even Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, bring the flair that Favre did. NOBODY shows more enthusiasm.

He didn’t make all the crazy throws he tried, but he kept trying no matter how many times he got picked off. Because nothing ever discouraged him. He always thought that the next one was going for 6. He kept slinging, and the next pass, he’d fit through the eye of the needle and jump into someone’s arms like a teenager.

Hate him all you want, complain about his constant faux-retirements, but at the end of the day, you still read the articles. You still kept up to date with what Favre was doing. You still took the time out of your day to say how much you “didn’t care”. Whether you liked to admit it or not, you didn’t get to watch Brett Favre, you HAD to watch Brett Favre.

Men do not fail; they give up trying. Favre is a legend because he never gave up trying.

I’m sure I’m not the only one that expected to see a picture of a float designed to look like a penis and a cell phone while being surrounded by a bunch of hoo..err…massage therapists in the parade.

    rcunningham -

All that may be true but he was still the worst QB in the league last year and he’s kind of a sleazeball (allegedly).

Actually Jimmy, it does get old. As evidenced by twice as many thumbs down as up on your post. Your rants are tired and pathetic. You need to go the way of your former partner in crime Bob Nelson and disappear.

As always, you obsess over the Vikings. Do you have dreams about them? Seriously! I have never seen anyone talk as much about something they supposedly hate as you do. Get a life will ya?

You claim how pathetic the Viking organization is. If it’s so pathetic why do you need to keep trying to prove it to everyone? I mean if it’s that obvious than you wouldn’t need to, right? It’s amazing how everything you post is about the Vikings.

Deb – This is his hobby. He has nothing better to do with his life but bash teh Vikings. He turns every thread he posts into a Viking bash. It doesn’t matter what the topic is. It’s pretty hilarious how much time he takes making himself look foolish.

i also think there should be a marshawn lynch tampling tracy porter float next year.

Brett Favre (and the Vikings) are so easy to make fun of…aren’t they? Tons of material there.

Deb, he does have a hobby.
Re-read your post & you’ll see how obvious his hobby is.

You could tell it was a Brett Favre float all the people throwing beads were intercepted by women that kept their shirts on

rcunningham: Extremely well said, props to you.

Leave it to New Orleans to have float like this, and leave it to Packer fans to comment about Brett Favre’s junk.

  30. cameran0804 says: Mar 7, 2011 9:00 PM

@jimmysmith, so much negativity towards the vikings in ALL your posts, you must be a fudge pack fan or bear fan. Get a life you clown!!!

  31. JimmySmith says: Mar 7, 2011 10:20 PM

ejmat2 says: how much time he takes making himself look foolish.

12 men in the huddle when the team is on the verge of going to the Superbowl and somehow I look foolish? Notice how the Viking fans never respond to the actual facts posted, they just resort to name calling and personal attacks.

I don’t think of it as negativity, I am merely pointing out the chinks in the Viking armor. And considering the sheer number of them, it does take awhle.

  32. nawlinssaints504 says: Mar 8, 2011 5:14 PM

I’m from New Orleans, and to be honest the concept of that float is shortsighted, stupefied, and embarrassing!!! C’mon! Really!? The people of Krewe D’Etat couldn’t have come up w/a more appropriate theme?
The thing I can’t stand the most is when people from other states correlate the ideas of one person to EVERYONE in the city…WTF!? I could care less what Favre did/does in his off time…the media LOVES to persecute ANY famous figure they can! I think Brett Farve was a phenomenal QB, but he should’ve retired indefinitely in his “glory days” where he’d be most remembered of how well he played instead of how he fell apart.

  33. saintswintaintedwin says: Mar 11, 2011 12:34 PM

There is just no end to the foul smell coming from New Orleans. So why not make a float of a giant referee and give praise to the officials who gave the game to the Saints and looked the other way at the dirty play by them? The Saints win over the Vikings will always be a tainted win and everyone knows this. You Saint fans just keep on making excuses or bad mouthing Viking fans to try to justify the officials calls. History will not forget.
