There is just no end to the foul smell coming from New Orleans. So why not make a float of a giant referee and give praise to the officials who gave the game to the Saints and looked the other way at the dirty play by them? The Saints win over the Vikings will always be a tainted win and everyone knows this. You Saint fans just keep on making excuses or bad mouthing Viking fans to try to justify the officials calls. History will not forget.

I’m from New Orleans, and to be honest the concept of that float is shortsighted, stupefied, and embarrassing!!! C’mon! Really!? The people of Krewe D’Etat couldn’t have come up w/a more appropriate theme?
The thing I can’t stand the most is when people from other states correlate the ideas of one person to EVERYONE in the city…WTF!? I could care less what Favre did/does in his off time…the media LOVES to persecute ANY famous figure they can! I think Brett Farve was a phenomenal QB, but he should’ve retired indefinitely in his “glory days” where he’d be most remembered of how well he played instead of how he fell apart.

I don’t think of it as negativity, I am merely pointing out the chinks in the Viking armor. And considering the sheer number of them, it does take awhle.

Brett Favre is a living legend. Many athletes are great but very few make the needle move. Very few make you sit in front of the TV for hours, just because you don’t want to miss what they do, or how they do it. NOBODY, not even Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, bring the flair that Favre did. NOBODY shows more enthusiasm.

He didn’t make all the crazy throws he tried, but he kept trying no matter how many times he got picked off. Because nothing ever discouraged him. He always thought that the next one was going for 6. He kept slinging, and the next pass, he’d fit through the eye of the needle and jump into someone’s arms like a teenager.

Hate him all you want, complain about his constant faux-retirements, but at the end of the day, you still read the articles. You still kept up to date with what Favre was doing. You still took the time out of your day to say how much you “didn’t care”. Whether you liked to admit it or not, you didn’t get to watch Brett Favre, you HAD to watch Brett Favre.

Men do not fail; they give up trying. Favre is a legend because he never gave up trying.
