NFL Films President Steve Sabol is recovering in a Kansas City hospital after suffering a seizure on Saturday night.

NFL.com reports Sabol is in stable condition and was awake and alert Monday after undergoing a battery of tests over the weekend. Sabol was in town to accept the Lamar Hunt Award for Professional Football on behalf of NFL Films at the 101 Awards.

We last heard from Sabol in Dallas, where we learned that his father Ed would be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. At the time, he talked about how he always made his films with the fans in mind.

A nation of football fans -- not to mention the countless people in the NFL Sabol has touched -- can join us in wishing Sabol a speedy recovery.
