Eric Smith’s fine from AFC title game reduced

Non-labor news in the NFL has essentially slowed to a crawl at this point, so we’re just going to pass along anything we get.

For example, were you guys wondering about Jets safety Eric Smith’s appeal of his $10,000 fine from the AFC Championship?

Well, we’re going to give you an update anyway.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that Smith’s fine was reduced to $5,000 upon appeal. He was fined for hitting a defenseless receiver -- wideout Emmanuel Sanders.
