Jerry Jones hopes to have update this morning

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the entire of the NFL’s executive labor committee have arrived at the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service for Friday’s vital day of negotiations.

On the way in to the building, Goodell said, as he usually does, “We are going to work hard.”

NFL lead negotiator Jeff Pash said, “We’re going to do our best.”

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, as he often does, let a little more slip out.

“Hopefully we will have something for you in an hour or two,” Jones said via Daniel Kaplan of the Sports Business Journal.

I’ve given up guessing what that “something” will be, as the state of negotiations seems to change by the hour.

My guess is that if Jones is involved, I’ll be scraping that “something” off the bottom of my shoe.

Jerry, I just tweeted to Brees in response to his being “sorry” to the fans for all this, that the goose that lays the golden eggs is dying and YOU and HE better be doing something about it if you want to continue to be able to afford to host events, football or otherwise, in your new palace…
