For the second time in two days, we have news to pass along that the NFL has reduced one of their most memorable fines of the season.

A league source informs PFT that Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan’s fine for his part in a fight with Andre Johnson was reduced from $25,000 to $15,000.

The NFL appeared to establish a precedent with the $25,000 fine. It was the same amount that Raiders defensive lineman Richard Seymour got for his open handed-slap on Ben Roethlisberger.

The league has many bigger problems to work out, but coming up with a fair and consistent system for fines should be part of a new CBA.
