Since you mentioned Munoz, I am assuming you are referring to the entire history of the Bengals. If that is true, Carson Palmer would be lucky to be considered one of the top 10 players to ever wear a Bengal uniform. Palmer has not done anything in his NFL career.

The offense had a good game against the Chargers, who look like they weren’t even trying. But maybe you should go watch the game against the Ravens again. Palmer went right back to being Palmer; 2 interceptions, and completely over throwing someone who was wide open on the Bengals last offensive play of the game (which was only like a 10 yard pass). Not only was he wide open, but he could of just walked into the endzone and the Bengals would have won the game.

This is true – he does have issues with accuracy. What you’re over looking is his 71% completion percentage and a run game that averaged under 3 yards per carry. Speaks to my point (this game did not include johnson or owens). Palmer was the only reason they were in the game in the first place.

as far top 10 bungles – if you’re including the last 21 years how many players can you include? if so Palmer should be the only representative (possibly Carl Pickens). other players had great individual game performances but NO PLAYER, other than Palmer, has led the team to the playoffs..

I was at the Playoff game in ’05, wearing my black and gold, if he doesn’t get hurt history is different.

Palmer is the most talented (skill) player (obviously munoz is their best) the bungles have had. It’s a shame he is getting all the blame for the offensive troubles. Notice how productive the team was when A. johnson and owens were off the field B. when the offensive line decided to run block C. when the team was unified.

Regardless of what each team does in the draft, the Panthers, Cardinals, 49ers & Titans would be lined up for Palmers services.

It seems as if everyone thinks Carson has no issues with following through on his threat to leave millions of $’s on the table and calling it a career at age 31. I say that he’s looking for an easy out to call it a career for declining skills and he’s using the Bengals as his scapegoat.

If he does return and play for this hapless team does Brown think they would actually improve? When the Bengals can make a trade, the should let some other team get whatever they can out of Palmer.

Just how strong is Palmers’ resolve of retiring? Under the current lockout, mediation, law suits, etc., that might be best for both him and the Bengals.

Carson isn’t talking about sitting out–which would be failing to honor his contract. He can retire anytime he likes. If I were him, I’d head for the Great Barrier Reef or Costa Rica or some other place out of this firestorm and kick back until it’s all over one way or another. If the lockout ends and Brown trades him, great. If not, hey … nice way to start your retirement.

Football is about the core – the front 7 – on both sides of the ball. Teams need a leader to lead that core. As long as the bungles continue to have the outsiders attempt to lead the core they’ll be and inconsistent team on and off the field.
