Jury convicts woman of murder, caused by jealousy over Shaun Gayle

Shaun-Gayle

A woman whom ex-Bears safety Shaun Gayle admitted to sleeping with has been convicted of murdering Gayle’s pregnant girlfriend, apparently spurred by a desire to have Gayle for herself.

A suburban Chicago jury found Marni Yang guilty of first-degree murder and intentional homicide of an unborn child in the shooting of Rhoni Reuter.

Prosecutors said Yang spent months planning the murder as an attempt to get Gayle from Reuter. Yang’s attorneys claimed Gayle was involved with many women and that Yang accepted that.

After the verdict was read, Gayle told reporters he thought justice had been served.

I’ll always have regrets,” Gayle said. “That’s going to be something I live with and I knew that the moment the task force identified who had done this.”

Note to others: there are some crazy people out there, get married and have a family. It’s far more rewarding anyways.

There are plenty of married people that go crazy too! See: numerous stories of mothers snapping and murdering all of their children

I was more referring to having multiple crazy girlfriends but you do make a valid point.

sad for the people involved and that Gayle will have to live with it like he says, hope he can find peace in it one day.

Justice has not been served. Gayle’s irresponsibility lead to this. Yes, Yang was the murderer, but Gayle was the catalyst for her motivation. When will these current/former professional athletes learn to do the right thing and walk away from temptation. From Steve McNair to Tiger Woods, to this; athletes have to learn that a little bit of pleasure isn’t worth losing your life or the life of someone you care about.

@lucky5927: Justice WAS served! Yeah, Gayle cheated, yes, he was irresponsible, but he’s not a danger to society; if you live next door to Gayle he won’t get a gun and shoot you six times. Yang has proven that if something doesn’t go her way, that the only way she can cope is by killing people. That’s the kind of crazy lady that has to live in a cage forever, so that nobody else suffers the fate of Reuter.
