Jury convicts woman of murder, caused by jealousy over Shaun Gayle

Shaun-Gayle

A woman whom ex-Bears safety Shaun Gayle admitted to sleeping with has been convicted of murdering Gayle’s pregnant girlfriend, apparently spurred by a desire to have Gayle for herself.

A suburban Chicago jury found Marni Yang guilty of first-degree murder and intentional homicide of an unborn child in the shooting of Rhoni Reuter.

Prosecutors said Yang spent months planning the murder as an attempt to get Gayle from Reuter. Yang’s attorneys claimed Gayle was involved with many women and that Yang accepted that.

After the verdict was read, Gayle told reporters he thought justice had been served.

I’ll always have regrets,” Gayle said. “That’s going to be something I live with and I knew that the moment the task force identified who had done this.”
