That’s because this blog sticks out like a sore thumb. Virtually every other sports blog in the country has the majority of fans in support of the players. This one does not.

Secondly the vast majority of the anti-player comments here contain zero mention of team affiliation, football appreciation, or any other key markers of football fans. In other words, these are not football fans writing. In this stream several do not even know who Mike Vrabel is.

Thirdly, they are nearly all newly created id’s. Maybe they just recently switched their names like I did but I find that very surprising. So surprising that I don’t believe it.

Mr F.l.o.r.i.o should check this out because he does run the risk of alienating his long term fan base that clearly are deserting the board while these temporary “fans” take over.

Most fans don’t need a writer, a blogger or a poster telling us what to think or write.

Why are so many people on the players side about health insurance? When you leave a job/get fired/retire etc, most companies give you access to COBRA and then you are on your own. These players are no different and the owners should not have to fund healthcare for life of these players? Its a violent game. Players no that and accept that when they sign a contract for a minimum of $300K per year. Live life liek the rest of the country

I’ll tell you why believe that players should have lifetime heavily subsidized insurance under a policy provided by the NFL (and maybe the NFLPA jointly if it exists again)…their profession is the source of preexisting conditions and it’s not fair that because their job is the source of that that they should have to pay higher rates or not find coverage at all. Anyone who has experience with insurance and preexisting conditions will tell you…it’s onerous.
IMO this issue isn’t one of how much money they made, it’s an issue of fairness.

Noone cares what your local blogs say. We don’t know what blogs they are, nor do we care to go verify or dispute your claims.

It is a comment just meant to incite.

And besides, Vrabel nor any of the others are serous about this. The plan all along has been to go the litigation route, claim ant-trust violations, force a devastating deal on the owners and collect triple damages to boot.

The NFLPA doesn’t give a rat’s behind about “the game”. These are some of the greediest people alive, and if they get their way, they will destroy the NFL.

Maybe, just maybe, it is 10-1 pro owner because objective fans of the game could see that the players did not negotiate after a “fair” concession was placed on the table. Most of these fans can’t stand Goodell but yet they are “siding” with him. That is called rational thought processes leading to an obvious conclusion. The union supporters simply chant “open the books” and think that holds water. There have been some good points made by the folks supporting the players but that does not change the fact that the players walked away, not the owners.

Your blogs are full of uneducated casual football fans who can’t understand that the owners laid out an offer to be negotiated on that gave in to nearly all player demands including 5 years of finances which is way more than they are entitled to. I am sorry that you are new to this blog where most people are smart enough to understand that.

All I did was say that the best lever the players have to get the actual owners to negotiate is to get an injunction.

Either that or to get Doty to assess punitive damages against the owners for cheating on the TV deals.

Without either or both of them the owners will continue to prevaricate knowing time is on their side.

Vrabel understands this.

Gravel doesn’t want to negotiate with JJ, Richardson and those owners. They need to deal with Rooney, Kraft, et al.

Idiot players dealing with idiot owners will accomplish nothing. Get with the strong owners. Where is Lamar Hunt when you need him?

NFLPA* has to wait until they un-shammy-fy.

Owners could wait until next season and go with replacement players this year. Watch the NFLPA* members jump ship!
