Compensatory picks expected next week

Just like the Week 1 schedule, compensatory picks are not expected to be announced this week at the league’s owners meetings as they typically are.

Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com first reported the picks are expected to be announced a later date.

A league spokesman indicated to PFT it’s believed the picks will be ready next week.  At that point, the league can announce the entire draft order.

Is that before or after they announce their new CBA?

If they throw out the draft system entirely, then everybody knows how their compensatory picks are gonna work.

How do undrafted free agents work during a lockout? I don’t believe this has ever been explained? If they aren’t able to sign, it is more important than ever to actually be drafted this year whereas in previous years the borderlines players were actually hoping to not get drafted so they could choose which team they wanted to go to.
