Since every coach is in attendance at the owners meetings, the NFL asks that they meet with the media for an hour over breakfast.
On Tuesday morning, 31 of 32 coaches showed up. Patriots coach Bill Belichick did not. Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe passes along this amusing story.
“Told at just after 8a, BB [Bill Belichick] walked past ballroom where coaches’ breakfast was being held, peeked in and kept on walking.”
(There is no truth to the rumor he gave reporters the Bud Adams salute or sang Cee Lo’s big hit on the way by.)
Belichick, who spoke with the media shortly on Monday, has skipped the breakfast occasionally in the past. Belichick will not be fined: The league asks coaches to show up for the interviews, but does not require them to be there.

Good for him. Screw the media.
He saw Andy Reid and Rex Ryan…..and figured must not be any breakfast left……
He just loves to thumb his nose at the establishment any chance he gets. It’s sort of a shame because he’s got some of the best insight into game of football as anyone else around. It’s nice when he decides to share some of that info.
It is what it is.
he was off installing hidden cameras in all the other coaches hotel rooms…
wow … atta way Shalize from the Boston Globe!
what a huge scoop!
maybe you just punched your ticket to ESPN.
He wouldn’t feed that breakfast to his damn dogs.
NO doubt Bill was rifling through the coaches’ bags and computers while the ate.
Wow what an amazing story
The occasion was probably too formal for him, because he was later spotted at Denny’s in sweatpants, drawing up plays on napkins.
This is BB’s way of protesting the “new kickoff rule!” Boycotting the Coaches Breakfast!
BREAKFAST??!!??, I don’t need no stinking breakfast!!
All hail the Hoody!
By any chance were Tom Jackson, Ron Borges, Charley Casserly and Roger Goodell seated at his table?
Why is this a story? As if the media would ask him about other than the Brady case.
I’d anticipate that Belichick is not alone w/some of the better coaches like Coughlin, Tomlin….check that, there aren’t many.
The competiton comittee has made football a shambles…5 yard rule, touching someones head…ALL WE SEE NOW IS OFFICIALS.
Eliminate Comp comm…and bring real football back…Thats what Belichick thimbing his nose at….Though do love the way he just gives the press….ZERO
Are you kidding me?
IT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY!
This is the kind of thing that makes Pats fans like him more and brings out the surliness in other teams’ fans.
He’s all about football and zero about fluffing anyone’s ego and butt kissing.
This just covers up the real story of Pat Shurmur being turned away because nobody still knows who the hell he is.
And on the other side of the coin you have Rex Ryan, who has’nt turned down a free meal (or any meal) or a microphone in his entire life.
Stories like what the Boston Globe published is the very reason he avoids them.
No Fruit Loops? Then forget it.
He ain’t got no pancake mix!
I am sure he had someone record the breakfast so he can watch how the other coaches are eating later on.
this is the second year in a row that the league isnt listening to the coaches they are passing whatever they want and ignoring the coaches…If I was BB I would just pack up and go home
Stay classy, Bill. Just like always.
He skipped breakfast only because the Sony Corporation had a huge display of their newest cameras at the same time in a different conference room.

____________________________________The funny thing is those two guys are at HEART…very similar guys. I’m not always a fan of everything RR says..I think he talks too much at times but I respect the guy as a coaching mind.
BB has his hoodies and his painful one line pressers…RR has his large appetite and his big mouth…but they respect each other a great deal and as a Pats fan I GET that…they both see past the “outside” of the other one and respect what they are as coaches which is the important thing.
Thay asked him to attend, he poked his head in the door.
I’d say he complied.
Breakfast? You talkn’ about Breakfast? Not Dinner, Not Lunch? Breakfast? You talkn about Breakfast man.
