J.J. Watt describes his remarkable journey to draft prospect

Many of you college football fans and amateur draftniks are probably familiar with the story of Wisconsin defensive end J.J. Watt.

For those of you that don’t know his story, well, we won’t spoil the PFT Live clip below.  Watt bet on himself during his college career in rather brave fashion, and that bet is going to come up huge in about a month.

Watt is expected to be drafted in the first round, likely in the top-20 picks as a 3-4 defensive end.

Florio likened Watt’s story to Rudy Ruettiger’s story at Notre Dame.  If Rudy was twice as big and ten times as talented.

They are making a movie about Watt’s life story. It’s called “Judy”.

I’d actually prefer you at least summarize his story as I do not know it and have no interest in watching a video to explain it mainly because I am usually required to waste 30 seconds of my life watching an add even though this is a blog.

Yes my time was better spent typing this than watching it.

Hope he’s still around for the Chargers at 19.

Having watched him play at Wisconsin, you can’t say enough good things about JJ Watt. He reminds me of Clay Matthews in that he is so driven and his motor never stops. He’s had to battle his way to where he is today just like Clay did. I think this guy is going to be a beast in the NFL.

Great story – and to think it all started with a bout of Mononucleosis

Let that be a lesson to all you young athletes!

So what you’re really trying to say is he’s nothing like him.

I see him falling to the Chargers at pick 18, S.D. has not had the explosiveness on defense since Merriman was caught with the steroids.
