With this reasoning he should be giving an even larger chunk to Payton Manning and slightly smaller chunk to Kurt Warner. It seems like they were all having bad games and throwing crucial int’s. Because, ya know, it surely had nothing to do with our defense.

Just let it go and enjoy the fact that your team completely screwed itself for years to come by entertaining the likes of favre.

I’m not sure what you are insinuating with those last 2 sentences. Are you saying this isn’t the same dynamic as Bill Bellechick has with the Patriots, McCarthy with the packers, Tomlin in Pitt. Surely you must understand that good teams make every attempt to resign their superbowl winning coaches.

Viking fans are a hoot! It never gets old enjoying their whining about that game. As a Saints fan for 30+ years, it’s fun to be whined about instead of doing the whining. I can never get enough of Paul Allen’s call on the Favre interception. Classic stuff.

As for Payton, I don’t know if he will really stay or not, but it’s been a great ride any way this turns out.

Payton’s record is 4-2. If they would have lost to the Vikes it adds a third loss while at the same time taking away the win against the Vikes which means no Super Bowl win too which means a 2-3 playoff record. See? One more loss and two less wins. So there’s that. Can you follow?

And as for the writer of this article, the last two lines where your opinion. You could have kept that to yourself. Of course he has leverage on the team, the guy won the Superbowl last year. How many coaches in the league has done that. You would want to keep this guy around. He built this team and he knows what he has. So what does the team have to prove to him?

I guess that Bill Parcell’s should give commission to Scott Norwood for missing that field goal in the Superbowl…and James Harrison should give commission for throwing that pick 6 in the superbowl that year as well.

It’s FOOTBALL you idiot. %hit happens that doesn’t always go as planned. Just because one guy screws up doesn’t mean the other team didn’t win. That’s how it goes. Live with it and be happy with Favre’s legacy and picture texts.
