I don’t think anyone other than Jerry Jones cares if Jerry Jones has to pay a fine. Personally, and this is coming from an Eagles fan, it’s not even a little bit of a story unless a draft pick is taken away, which doesn’t appear to be the case.

I bet this has been going on for years and no one cared. But now that there’s a lockout, and even though this happened before the lockout, they suddenly decide to enforce the rules? Whatever.

The coaches may be the ones most adversely affected by the lockout. Their hands are tied from doing their jobs and they can’t say anything about it, because they are ‘direct-report employees’ of the owners, while the players are contract labor.

That may be one of the worst rules yet. If a player gives up his time voluntarily to meet with a new coach, who gives a rats tail. That used to be considered “dedication” and seeing as how the Cowboys played their last game in December it would seem logical that they had enough down time.

The NFL is irritating me a lot lately. First making new rules for a season that might not happen. Now they’re fining teams for handing out playbooks/talking to players BEFORE the lockout happened?
