Drayton Florence offers to join UFL during lockout, as a coach

On Thursday, Hartford Colonials coach Jerry Glanville told PFT Live that he doesn’t expect many veteran NFL players to take the pay cut that would result from jumping to the UFL as a player.

At least one NFL player is willing to help coach.

In a Twitter message directed to Virginia Destroyers coach Marty Schottenheimer, Bills cornerback Drayton Florence offered his services “as a defensive back coach until the lockout is over.”

Florence played for Schottenheimer in San Diego.

It’s a low-risk way to remain involved in the game of football -- and to also stick it a little bit to the NFL.
