On Thursday, Hartford Colonials coach Jerry Glanville told PFT Live that he doesn’t expect many veteran NFL players to take the pay cut that would result from jumping to the UFL as a player.
At least one NFL player is willing to help coach.
In a Twitter message directed to Virginia Destroyers coach Marty Schottenheimer, Bills cornerback Drayton Florence offered his services “as a defensive back coach until the lockout is over.”
Florence played for Schottenheimer in San Diego.
It’s a low-risk way to remain involved in the game of football -- and to also stick it a little bit to the NFL.
