Gotta go and check PFW’s Nolan Narwocki’s
old pre draft analysis of Ainge when he came out of Tennessee. Because if Narwocki can spend 10 mins with Cam Newton and perform a full on Sigmund Freud cipher of Every emotional flaw in Newton from his total direspect for authourity to his fake smiles(WOW!)

I am SURE he spotted the signs of a strung out heroin, percocet, marajuana, meth addict….RIGHT?

I’d be more worried about things like, 3 instances of academic cheating while at UoF (you have to cheat a lot to get caught 3 times), stealing a laptop from a fellow student while at UoF, and selling his services to the highest bidder after spending a year at a JC, than most of the things cited in the PFW piece.

I don’t see that a lesson has been learned from his past behavior that would show him that such things are mistakes. Indeed, being drafted in the top 10 would confirm to him that he is doing everything right.

I don’t think that’s in any way clear at all. Just ’cause Mike Mayock says something doesn’t mean it’s true. Even forgetting the personality (or what people perceive as his personality) it has been proven many, many times that being big and athletic and having a great arm do NOT make a guy “clearly worthy” of a top-five selection since it doesn’t prove a guy can run a pro offense.

Fat little Georgie is even more about self promotion than the large Newt. Gives him traction with all the bimbo cub reporters looking for access. Under “George the Guru”, Newton’s passing demonstrations got progressively worse and not better.

Everyone seems to take issue with the comment that Cam made about becoming an entertainer and an icon but very few are point at the context that the comment was made in. It was in response to a question and the only way to become an icon in football is to win.

I, too, always thought his smile was phony. He always indicated to me that his fascination with himself was boundless. These observations are obviously on a personal level and are solely my own opinion. For these reasons alone – I wouldn’t draft him.

Also, he always appeared to me not to be able to take a good, solid hit. I didn’t see him take too many, which is to his credit, but the one’s that he did take showed me that he’s somewhat “soft”. That won’t cut it in the NFL.

Pre-draft muck raking and character assassinating is where the action is! Fun. Fun.

Yes, Nawrocki probably did spend about 10 minutes with Cam, Mr.Whitfield. Shockingly…..that’s not where he gathered all his information. He spoke to coaches and other personnel people.

I mean shoot, if you think a guy is insincere we all know the best way to find out about him is to talk to him directly, but clearly Nawrocki has his own unique methods.

I’ve come to find that those entertainment QB’s who loves media attention don’t really pan out in the NFL. If cam thinks that he will be successful in the NFL just based of athleticism we will be surprised. Tim Tebo first rushing touchdown he got his ribs broke! Get (NFL) football smart!

Guy seems a little unhinged.

If I was a GM I would be just as worried about the character of the people around him (possibly crazy “personal QB coach”, completely corrupt father) as I would about the character of the player himself.

Whatever side of the “Cam Newton will be a great NFL QB” argument you are on, you have to admit he’s got a lot more weirdness swirling around him than the typical draft prospect.
