You can be heard you just need to wake up and realize your hypocrisy. Do you demand character from your banker, grocer, doctor, etc? No, you dont care as long as they get the job done.

Your heroes of yesteryear were just as troubled and jerks like the players of today. The difference is that there wasnt a 24 hour news cycle back in the day and a fascination with seeing celebrities and athletes hit rock bottom. If Talib is guilty he should suffer the consequences. At this point nobody knows whether he is guilty or not. Especially considering how many times the story has changed. That being said its ridiculous to think that athletes should be boy scouts just because they make a lot money. We dont ask that of anybody else in our society why are people who are essentially entertainers held to a higher standard?

A warrant for his arrest has been issued both for him and his mother. Police have determined that they BOTH did indeed fire shots at an individual. His mother has a PRIOR felony conviction and should not even had a gun!
If convicted, he faces 5 to 20 years in prison.
The Bucs have no choice but to release him.
Right now, they have their hands tied with the CBA situation.
But, make no mistake, Talib will NOT play another game for the Buccaneers!
Get rid of his arse!

Hate to say it, but I think the bucs will cut him if they dont trade him some how. I hate to say this because he is one of the top CB’s in the game right now,and even one of the rare players that are considered shut down corners. But Dominik and Raheem are probably tired of him,and will stay with the way of cutting players who get in trouble alot, like Jeremy Stevens. But Talib is a young elite corner Id like to see, if he can just stop acting like the gangsta he is and realize he cant do that anymore now that hes in the NFL and makes millions.

PFT’s comment in a previous post that Jolly is still in the Packer’s plans referenced a comment made by Mike McCarthy before Jolly found himself back in the clink (something mentioned in the first Jolly article but not the second).

This was probably an oversight by PFT because, if not, they’re very close to pulling an ESPN (adding/omitting information to generate the outcome they support).

Jolly and Talib are two very different turds in the same bowl, and while I can’t speak for anyone else, I’d certainly appreciate a courtesy flush.

anybody who says character doesnt matter, needs to look at what happened to the bucs secondary in the last year….
And next year schedule……they play 9 games I believe against qb that can eat their lunch……….Those two players missing would be a disaster……….

It will really hurt the Bucs if they lose him. Talib is on his way to becoming a spectacular corner. Think Lester Hayes/Mike Haynes in their prime. Very physical yet with great cover skills.

But, if he actually shot at that dude, I really think the Bucs have no choice but to get rid of him. He is an epic Mike Vick-like P.R. nightmare waiting to happen.

So far the allegations are contained in a blog of an obscure dallas newspaper, The Observer. Let’s wait to see if the police concur. If they do, then the Bucs should trade him to somebody, or cut him! He’d be a nice fit with Dez Bryant! The Wild twins.

I agree those are extremes and I understand your point. T.O. was released (and suspended by the Eagles) for conduct detrimental to the team. Not for poor play. But as I said, I agree that T.O. Does not fit that bill. I would maybe bring up Pacman Jones, although he really never had a chance to peak and was never overly successful. Overall, and sadly, you are right. Talent tends to win out.
