Barnett WAS a very good player but how long has it been since he’s made a consistent impact NEAR the line of scrimmage. I would say it’s been at least 4 seasons. Meanwhile, his “jawjacking” has gone thru the roof even though he hasn’t finished 2 of the past 3 seasons.

Let’s not act like he was a terrible player, he’s been running that defense from the middle linebacker spot since he came into the league. Let’s not forget the Hawk wasn’t able to adapt in year one of the 3-4, and Kampman didn’t make it through that transition either while Barnett held it down and made all the calls from day one with Capers. Someone is going to get a good player in Barnett simply because the Packers have been drafting well and building depth for some time now.
