Jerry’s giant TV loses its crown

cowboysx-inset-community AP

As the late Roy Scheider possibly would say to Jerry Jones, “You’re gonna need a bigger board.”

The four-sided drive-in movie screen at Cowboys Stadium soon will no longer be the largest video board in any sports arena.  Per Sean Leahy of USA Today, officials at Charlotte Motor Speedway have unveiled a new video screen that will be 30 percent larger than the centerpiece of Jones’ billion-dollar man-canyon.

Jones’ screen is 80 feet tall.  The screen at Charlotte Motor Speedway will span 110 feet.

The new board will debut on May 29.  And if the folks at Charlotte Motor Speedway really want to one-up Jones, they should make sure that every ticket sold for the race will have a corresponding seat.

So Jerry Jones looks 30% creepier on the NASCAR TV.

Wow, the world’s largest screen. Just in time to see “Tide” and “STP” ads painted on cars going around in a circle.

HAHA too bad the screen above is more exciting then the games below..

    & Giants suck.

Actually its 27.2728% larger, not 30%

And much like the TV at JerryWorld, the attendees are encouraged to watch the television to make up for the lack of entertainment at the venue. Watching cars make left turns is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Here’s hoping that they play some “Good Times” reruns during the event.

Fans of Nascar need something to watch while that boring sport is going on.

Jerry announces a new video board to be put in place for 2011-2012 NFL season.

The only thing bigger than the board will be his ego.

It’s so easy to laugh at Jerry Jones.

    No – we got 4 SB rings…..

  19. nflallyear says: Mar 31, 2011 4:16 PM

    @MARKDAMACK

Hey man, the ONLY reason Jones has those rings is because of Jimmy Johnson and the Vikes making the worst trade in NFL history.

What has Jones done in the last 15 years since Johnson left, other than bring ridicule to the once proud franchise?

They’ve been an average team for years that make the playoffs every 5-7 years.

markdamack says: can the owner of your team say that?

Yes we can and our most recent Superbowl ring is not from the 90′s. Jones should be blowing Jimmy Johnson for his Superbowl rings, he wouldn’t get another after the teams that Jimmy built fade into dust.

The Cowgirls suck and Dez Bryant is an idiot, your hero no doubt.

  21. thefiesty1 says: Mar 31, 2011 4:33 PM

He will just build a bigger one. You can’t keep up with the Joneses. Nobody’s ego is that big.

  22. ncsteve83 says: Mar 31, 2011 4:51 PM

Guess where the largest video board in the entire NBA is at?

Time Warner Cable Arena, home of the CHARLOTTE Bobcats. We like big screens here.

  23. thestrategyexpert says: Mar 31, 2011 4:55 PM

JJ is such a poser, he’s always been known for trying to play a bigger game than he can step up to. I bet he thought he was a bigshot at the time he got that TV, turns out he’s the small fry.

What nobody can beat JJ in, is the size of the ratio of his wealth divided by his intelligence level. I can’t think of anybody that can beat him at that offhand.

His football team should be dominant, instead it’s a joke, and he fails to maximize opportunities because he thinks his ego represents intelligence, and he won’t follow the advice of smarter people that are surely surrounding him.

Big deal, Al Davis has 3 rings.

@ Mike Tomlin who said “Actually its 27.2728% larger, not 30%”

110 feet is actually 37.5% bigger than 80 feet. Just sayin’.

180 feet long and 72 feet tall X 2. Theres two of those hanging up there. Not the biggest anymore but still impressive (and idiocracy).
