Former Jaguars and Bills defensive lineman Marcus Stroud has seen veterans like Rodney Harrison, Gerard Warren, and Junior Seau experience surprising late career success with the Patriots.

Stroud wants in.

“I’ve seen the trend,” Stroud told Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald. “You have guys who are in the same situation I’m in, who some people may deem washed up or on his last legs. And then they end up going to New England and having a lot of success for another two, three, four years. That’s what I’m looking at.”

Stroud is known as a good locker room guy, but he was overpaid in Buffalo. He’ll be a defensive end in New England’s scheme, and could basically take the place of Gerard Warren, who is coming off a solid season.

There has been some speculation that Ty Warren could be on the roster bubble as well if he doesn’t have a strong training camp.
