Man, Schnieder and Carroll say something three months ago and it's suddenly breaking news. As a Seahawks fan, it's obvious that both lines need work. We also need a new QB, SS, a CB or two, a couple of linebackers, and someone to teach Gus Bradley how to defend a screen.

Hey Schmitty2 – That was a fluke win against The Saints? Did you watch the game? That was a complete and utter ass whooping. They dominated out the gate, and were completely deserving of that playoff spot. They went farther than a lot of “dominant” teams too…

41-36 is an ass whuppin? And yes I'm aware the Saints scored 16 points in the 4th quarter to make it closer but still.....

Really glad to hear that the Hawks will be focusing on the lines. There some bright spots on the D-line, like Mebane (if he's re-signed), Bryant, Clemons, and Brock (again, if re-signed). But the depth along the D-line is awful, and a guy to replace Cole would be a great start.

The O-line is good at LT if Okung can avoid the fluke injuries he had in his rookie season. Stacy Andrews will finally be moved to RT (a move the team wanted to make last season, until injuries forced them to keep him at RG)... could pay off well. But the interior of the O-line is awful. The Hawks don't have a real starting caliber guard, and while Spencer was decent at center last year, he's a FA and I'm fairly sure the team could upgrade the position.

That doesn't mean the team wouldn't draft a QB if a good prospect was available at 25... but if the better prospects are gone at that point, it wouldn't make any sense to pick a QB just because Hasselbeck is on his last legs and Whitehurst is a question mark. In that scenario, I think they'd probably want to grab the BPA on the line and stick it out with Whitehurst for another season.

How much could the Seahawks need? Didn’t they win their division last year?

Um yeah they were 7-9 and got spanked by many teams. Dont give a team too much credit for winningthe NFC west and having a fluke playoff win

Hey, a GM with actual common sense for once. Based on all the rumors flying around, you'd think that QB was the top priority for every team in the first round. The Seahawks have much bigger needs than that.
