That can’t be possible according to the trolls on this site. Newton can only be compared to J. Russell, V. Young, M.Vick and so on. Gibert must only compare to Brady, Brees, Rivers, etc…In all serious, if he see’s that when looking at the two I guess that explains Aaron Maybin. Newton would have taken Missouri to the top of the Big 12, Gilbert on Auburn?? Chicken Filet Bowl….

Everyone will see a few years from now, when Cam is sitting on the bench and Blaine is taking his team to the SB.

Because yards lost to sacks count against your rushing totals in college which makes QB’s who play in systems that don’t have many designed run plays for QB’s have crappier run stats compared to guys who are asked to run like Newton.

i would love to see 3 years down the road with these 2 and mallett to see if any panned out cause it just seems so up in the air..

Interestingly enough, I read an sports article yesterday where an AFC GM was comparing all four QBs..Cam, Blaine, Jake, and Mallett..Want to take a guess as to which one got the media’s “walking on egg shell” review . Which one got the media “finger wagging” review…Which one got the “oh hum” review…and which was had the “poorest character” out of the group review..But even more interesting, which one was considered the weakest of the four…I’ll give you a hint, his initials are with “BG”

There is a reason why Blaine was never on any top QB list during his college seasons and it’s not Mizzou’s offense fault.

By the way TMZ of the media, when are you going to rake over Blaine’s background and tell the public of Blaine and his brother’s drunken fight incident someone over a unrinal at a bar where the cops were called and him and his brother avoid being arrested because of their “status.” Makes for a way better “character issue” story than Mallatt getting arrest for his public drunken display and Cam’s paying for a “hot” lap-top.

Hmmm…Underage drinking… bathrooms…drunk…Blaine sounds more like Ben Rothleisburger than Tim T. Only things are missing are the rape accusations.

Gabbert on the other hand ran the spread but didn’t have an option attack infused. He also had more short to intermediate passing like slants, digs, arrows, jerk routes, etc where he had to actually read the coverage. He read shell coverages and mixed zones while going through 3-4 reads consistently. Put Gabbert in Malzahn’s system and you will get more yards and TDs.

I still think both will blow in the NFL though.
