Leslie Frazier was planning to hold his first minicamp as Vikings head coach starting next weekend, Friday April 8.

Yeah, that’s probably not going to go off as scheduled.

“We’re getting to that point now . . . where it’s going to be real hard to pull something together by the time we had wanted to do it, which would’ve been this next weekend coming up,” Frazier told espn1500’s Jess Myers Saturday. “So, Monday we’re going to make a decision and it doesn’t look good right now.”

That’s a rather large understatement, but we admire the optimism with which Frazier approached the decision. Seeing NFL players on the field before the end of May would seem like a minor miracle at this point, much less the end of next week.

During most offseasons, new head coaches get to hold an extra minicamp. The next CBA may not allow for that.

In the end, Frazier is a lot more likely to hold no minicamps this offseason than the two minicamps he originally planned on.
