Madden cover tournament down to Elite Eight

With not much else going on in the NFL, the folks at EA Sports made a wise decision to have a bracket-style fan vote to determine who will be on the cover of this year’s Madden game. That voting has drawn plenty of attention for the game, and now we’re down to eight remaining candidates.

The eight who advanced in last week’s round of voting are Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Patriots running back Danny Woodhead, Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, Browns running back Peyton Hillis, Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick and 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis.

This week, fans can cast votes in four “competitions” between players: Rodgers vs. Woodhead, Charles vs. Hillis, Brees vs. Peterson and Vick vs. Willis.

The winner -- and victim of this year’s Madden cover curse -- will be announced during the last week of April.
